Safety First...Sometimes
A woman driver. Need I say more?
This picture leaves me speechless. Where`s OSHA when you need them?
On this pic you would think that the guys home made support system was bad enough, until you notice that he`s welding the gas tank.
Never mind that this guy is drilling on an alunimum ladder, in a pool of water with 110 volts AC live voltage dangling over the water, at least he has his safety goggles on.
FYI: For those of you who never knew before, and those of you who wondered, tanks don`t float.
This had to have hurt
But not as much as this
What are you running from?
Could it be this?
One more for the road.
Did this next guy lose his job?
Was he at least reprimanded?
Did he ever get his spinchter to un-clench?
Inquiring minds want to know.
I would refuse to work within 5 miles of whoever did this.
Safety First...Sometimes.

Sure, maybe the first pic was due to a woman driver [and that is a big maybe]...but have a look see at the rest of the pictures. Notice they are all men?

Uh, Emma? I was being nice. I DO have more pics you know ;)

To be honest, that`s up there because I have absolutely no idea how she got her car to dangle from high voltage lines.
As far as I can tell there are no hills or large buildings around, so how in the heck did she do that?
I`m stumped, and impressed and maybe even a little jealous.

Ho.
Ly.
Crap!
Any possible clue as to how that car got on the wires?

Hey, maybe I should pay more attention to the comments previously posted...

Oh my god! I have GOT to show the forklift pic to my buds at work! Good find.. very, very funny.

As my good friend, Deputy Anderson would say: "pretty sure it's fake." Of course we call him the Mayor of Hateville, so what does he know?
Is that ThaSickness from Rightnation.us?

Well, yeah! Weren't you the one that directed us here in the Wacky Image section?

I think the car ended up on the wires by driving up and onto a guy wire to a nearby telephone/power pole, although that may have been a different white car I saw in a similar picture. I've seen a number of strange things happen to cars when they hit support wires like that.

ThaSickness,
Doesn't mean I expected anyone to listen to me!

I think I represented that woman driver from the first pic;-)

Nice pics Joat.
I don't think aluminum is a very good conductor of electricity, not sayin' I would count on it, I am just sayin.
Posted by: Pile On® at Feb 25, 2005 2:11:03 PM
Actually, Pile On, aluminum is a GREAT conductor of electricity, to the point it's used in power transmission lines. The fork lift, welding and ladder pictures are just incredible. The Sidewinder pic is just plain scary, but major kudo's to the photog. Thanks for the stack o' pictures.

What`s even better is that I have a lot more.
They have to be seen to be believed.

RE: more pic's. Some of these are strong medicine, but a steady dose every so often would do me wonders.
The welder picture makes me laugh every time. The only thing missing is a couple of empty beer bottles under there with him.
(I have a friend who makes awesome diorama's with plastic models. I forwarded him this link with a suggestion that he do one based on the 'damp' M-1. It would certainly be unique.)

Yep, that`s the plan. I wish I could post them all but there are a lot and they hog bandwidth as I found out with the FS 62 pics.
I`m not a blogger in the sense that I am at, or have access to a computer all day, because I don`t.
I do construction, maintenance and repair work for our Rich Uncle Sam (US Government) and
I`ve been pulling 13 and 13 hour days so finding things to post sometimes just takes up too much time. I`ve just been posting when I can.
If I only posted on of those kinds of pictures a day I`d still have enough for about a years worth.
I have thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos that are just too numerous or the wrong file format for Typepad to support.
I went looking around for an off site host and even contacted GrouchyMedias server, and when I told them what I had and what I wanted to do all they would "suggest" was that I team up and collaborate with Grouchy.
I don`t want to do that so I guess I`ll just have to buy a server and either support it myself (questionable) or pay someone to support it.
Time will tell.

P.S.
If by "damp M-1" you mean the tank that`s in the mudhole, then it isn`t an M-1. I believe it`s British. There`s another pic of them pulling it out that I didn`t post, but it`s obvious.

Re: pictures -- My kids and I will appreciate them whenever they show up. I'm just glad you're nice enough to share them, so kudo's again.
Re: damp M-1, you got me there, last time I was around tanks the M-1 was still in testing so I have to ask for a mulligan. I'm sure my model building buddy will let me know what it is.
Posted by: Jimm at Feb 27, 2005 7:12:19 PM
I think the first tank is a German Leopard 2. I have seen an M-113 stuck even worse than that, either way it sucks. The second tank is a US M-1, the 3rd is an Israeli Merkava. Great pix.
