Eh? Who votes for this stuff anyways and makes these selections? I demand to see the ballot process. After the last few caption contests, we, the readers of 'Jet Noise', are becoming suspicious of this whole thing. My lawyer will...oh, I WON!
Never mind. And turn off those headlights.

Don, I was just honored (and surprised) to be included in such erudite and witty company. This will be my last entry on this forum if I do any more caption contests, but I really enjoyed it :)
Congratulations to everyone - there were a lot of very funny entries - the judges had a hard time making up their minds.

Don Brouhaha.....well I'll be.
Masked Menace, yours was much funnier than mine and it was the only caption that actually addressed the individual in the picture and his protest cause. I told you you should have fixed the typo.

Way to go, Don! Just remeber that your Jet Noise attorneys a always ready to protect you in the event that you should be judged unfairly.
Menace, we've got what looks like a concession from Pile On. Call me!
Oh my goodness! Look at the time already! I feel like I just sat down at my desk, and heere it is early afternoon.

I've always said that humor is subjective, Pile.
I didn't think mine was that funny either. Frankly - I wouldn't have picked it. That's why I get someone else to do the judging.
I did like Don's very much. I also like spd's longer Variety thingy even though it wasn't a caption.

I am such a dope.

Can I quote you on that?
Posted by: Don Brouhaha at Sep 20, 2004 9:52:01 AM
You can, but then he'll sue you for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

I might have fixed the typo if I hadn't feared the plunge into booze and wild women that Don must now endure :-)
Posted by: Masked Menace at Sep 20, 2004 10:44:48 AM
The combination of the earache, cold medication and lack of sleep makes it difficult to perceive reality.
What booze and wild women are you talking about? More like antihistamines and loud little boys.

Don, we all have our own ways of dealing with the sudden noteriety that comes with winning a major caption contest. If your thing is antihistamines, who am I to be critical. But not to worry, as the word of your victory spreads around the blogosphere and eventually CBS News, the hotties, groupies and hangers on will show up. So please ixnay ethay ittlelay oysbay.

I was discriminated against by all the rest of you non-Hogan's Heroes fans! I'm calling whatever Revs I can find, Jackson or Sharpton, to lead a protest march with me!
We shall overcooooome, we shall overcoooome.
No justice, no peace! No justice, no peace!

Congrats Don.. for a picture that was funny on its own, I thought it was tough to caption. And your prize should be a utility belt.

I concur. I laughed louldy and long and scared the children.

Leave it to Pile On to completely distort my retort!:} My sons were arguing incessantly the last few days about Yu-Gi-Oh cards (don't ask!).
It also doesn't help that one of them broke his arm last week and we spent HOURS at the hospital waiting for it to be set (geez, what's up with the medical care in this country, anyways?). Poor litle guy was really strugglin' with it.
With the anti-histamines (I think I got sick at the hospital, geez the place is full of ill people. Imagine!), it took two beers at a friends' house on Saturday night to whack me out completely. And they were lite beers.
Thanks again, but I really thought others were more deserving (humbly slinks off).

Sorry Don, but you were the judges' choice. My humble caption was the first one chosen, but when the choices were ranked, yours was the hands-down favorite - unanimously.

Geez Don, if you are going to enjoy the rock star treatment you are going to have to can the humility act. Have you learned nothing from the example I have tried to set?
